Data Sources

Sondio aggregates oil and gas data from state and federal regulatory agencies across multiple US states, including Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Data includes well records, production figures, drilling permits, operator violations, and pipeline safety incidents.

Important Notice

Sondio is not a primary data source. Data displayed on this platform is derived from regulatory records maintained by state and federal agencies. Sondio aggregates and presents this data as a convenience — we do not verify, modify, or guarantee the accuracy of the underlying records.

Data Limitations

The data presented on Sondio is subject to the following limitations:

• Timeliness: Data updates vary by source. Some agencies publish weekly, others monthly, and publication schedules may change without notice. There will always be a delay between when a record is filed with an agency and when it appears on Sondio.
• Completeness: Not all records from every source may be available. Coverage depends on what each agency publishes electronically and the scope of our data collection.
• Accuracy: Records may contain errors at the source (incorrect well locations, misattributed operators, erroneous production figures, etc.). Errors may also be introduced during the aggregation process.
